DEBATE PREVIEW: Heinrich to Outline His Record of Results For New Mexico and Vision For A Better Future

Debate will highlight stark contrast between Heinrich & multimillionaire former hedge fund executive Nella Domenici

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Later today, when New Mexicans tune into the first debate between Senator Martin Heinrich and multimillionaire former hedge fund executive Nella Domenici, they’ll see that Martin Heinrich is a pragmatic, focused leader who is fighting for a better future for New Mexico; working to create good-paying jobs, lower the cost of living, defend women’s freedom to choose, keep our communities safe from crime and gun violence, protect our cherished public lands, and build an economy that delivers for working families.

That stands in stark contrast to what they’ll see from Nella Domenici: that she is an out-of-touch former hedge fund executive, who was willing to do almost anything to enrich herself during the nearly 50 years she spent away from New Mexico working on Wall Street. And in the time since she’s returned to the state — after being recruited to run for office by extreme, anti-choice Republicans — she has refused to tell New Mexicans where she stands on the most basic yet critical issues facing our state.

For the first time, Nella will have to answer for:

Her background as an ultra-wealthy former hedge fund executive who helped enrich Wall Street and China at the expense of New Mexico, investing millions in China’s military and its largest producer of fentanyl.
Whether she will vote for Donald Trump in the upcoming election, after canceling interviews to avoid the question and repeatedly deflecting inquiries about her support for him.
Her refusal to support a national right to an abortion – something she recently referred as a “sham.”
