NEW AD: Senator Heinrich “A Step Ahead” in Fight Against Fentanyl

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Senator Martin Heinrich’s campaign today released a new ad highlighting his work to secure funding and resources to combat fentanyl and keep New Mexicans and our communities safe. The ad, titled “Step Ahead,” features a testimonial from Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen who describes Senator Heinrich’s commitment to empowering law enforcement to combat the fentanyl crisis, including new tools to stop traffickers and funding for new policing technologies.

“Law enforcement officers are on the frontlines of the fight against fentanyl, and they need our full support,” said Senator Heinrich. “The funding and tools we’ve been able to deliver will help keep illicit fentanyl out of our communities and save countless lives. Together, we’re tackling this issue head on and staying one step ahead.”

Senator Heinrich has been leading efforts to tackle the opioid epidemic, address violent crime, and protect New Mexico communities from fentanyl, most recently securing more than $1 million for local law enforcement to detect illicit fentanyl, helping to pass the historic FEND Off Fentanyl Act into law, and authoring legislation to require the DEA to establish a nationwide fentanyl tracking system.

We deal with it every day
Fentanyl is destroying New Mexico communities
Senator Heinrich is working with us
And taking action
He passed a law that gives us the tools to combat fentanyl
Before it ever reaches our border
Senator Heinrich secured critical funding
For law enforcement to acquire technology
To help us fight crime right here
We have to stay one step ahead of the criminal element
And Senator Heinrich has given us the tools to make that happen

The ad will air statewide in New Mexico. Watch the ad here.
